Divorce rate falls by 6% in H1
TEHRAN – Divorce rate in Iran has reduced by more than six percent during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (beginning March 21, 2018) compared to the same period last year.
During the first six months of the current year, a total number of 48,287 cases of divorce are recorded which shows 6.3 percent decrease year on year in which 51,514 cases of divorce was recorded, IRNA quoted Seyfullah Abu-torabi, spokesman for National Organization for Civil Registration, as saying.
The divorce rate varies in different provinces and in order to study divorce rate in each part of the country a 5-year timeframe should be considered, Abu-torabi added.
Meanwhile, a total number of 191,267 cases of marriage were recorded in the first six months of the year, the official said.
